Edit Business
Use this page to view and update the details for a business record. You can change identifiers (code, name), industry,
postal and billing addresses, registration numbers, contact details, employee count, and the business logo and positioning.
After making changes click Update to persist them.
What you can do on this page
- 1. Change the Business Type and Industry to reflect the organisation structure.
- 2. Edit identifiers and contact fields: Business Code, Business Name, phone, email and website.
- 3. Update postal address fields (Address Lines, City, Postcode, Country).
- 4. Use the Same as above checkbox to copy postal address values into billing address fields; billing fields are disabled while the checkbox is set.
- 5. Upload a new business logo and choose whether to let the system resize large images.
- 6. Remove a saved logo using the Delete Logo link (a confirmation dialog appears).
- 7. Set the Logo Location (Left / Centre / Right) used on printed material and headers.
- 8. Add or edit a free-text Business Note; the character counter updates as you type.
- 9. Click Update to save all changes or Cancel to revert unsaved edits.
Page layout
- Header — title and informational box showing a short guidance note.
- Main form — grouped labeled rows for business data and addresses.
- Logo controls — file selector, resize option, Upload button, image preview and Delete action (confirmation required).
- Action row — Update and Cancel buttons; a loading overlay is shown during longer requests.
- Feedback — Error panel for validation/server messages and a success panel shown on successful update.
Typical flow
- Edit the fields you need to change (for example Business Name, Address or Industry).
- If the billing address should match the postal address, tick Same as above — billing fields will be disabled automatically.
- To change the logo, choose a file and click Upload Logo. Optionally check Resize if logo is bigger to allow server resizing.
- If you remove an existing logo, click Delete Logo and confirm in the modal dialog.
- Click Update to save your changes. The page shows a loading overlay while the server processes the update; on success a confirmation message is displayed.
Logo upload & delete
- 1. Uploading a new file does not finalise the business record until you click Update; make sure to save after uploading.
- 2. Use the Resize if logo is bigger option to let the server downscale large images to the site's recommended dimensions.
- 3. Deleting a logo shows a confirmation dialog. Deletion is permanent and removes the saved image from the business record.
Billing address behaviour
- 1. When Same as above is checked, billing address fields are disabled and visually indicated as inactive.
- 2. Uncheck the box to edit billing address separately.
- 3. The page includes client-side logic to toggle disabled state; values will be submitted to the server on Save.
Validation & UI feedback
- Error panel — validation errors (required fields, invalid formats) appear here; fix problems and resubmit.
- Success message — confirms the update and includes a Close action to hide the banner.
- Loading overlay — prevents duplicate actions while the server processes uploads or updates.
- Character counter — the Business Note box shows current character count and the maximum allowed (1000).
Troubleshooting
- 1. If the Update button returns an error, review the Error Panel for details (missing required fields or server-side validation).
- 2. If the logo preview does not show after upload, verify the upload succeeded and then click Update to commit the new image to the record.
- 3. If billing fields remain disabled unexpectedly, toggle the Same as above checkbox (the page runs client-side code on load to set initial state).
- 4. If a long-running operation appears stuck, use the Cancel button and retry; check server logs or contact support with timestamps if problems persist.
Security & best practices
- Ensure Business Code and Business Name are entered correctly — they are used for identification and integrations.
- Store any official registration numbers accurately (Company Reg No, VAT) for invoicing and compliance purposes.
- Keep the business email and website up-to-date so notifications reach the correct address.
Notes
- Some fields are required (marked with an asterisk) — the server will enforce required-field validation.
- Changes typically take effect immediately for new sessions; some integrations may require users to sign out and back in to observe permission or branding changes.
